Written by Gary Gamble and Shunie Crampsey, “The Whole Place Is Talkin’ About You” is a light-hearted country song made for a quickstep, a jive or simply a good listen and a laugh.
The song finds the funny side of being the talk of the town, capturing the calamity that can follow when everybody seems to have something to say.
As Gary puts it: If they’re talking about you, they’re leaving someone else alone!
The idea took shape while Gary and Shunie travelled through Scotland on the tour wagon. Between the miles and the music, they enjoyed writing a song that kept things simple, lively and full of fun.
Gary says Shunie is a talented songwriter who doesn’t usually write comedy, but was a great help in bringing this one to life. Together, they blended country music with Gary’s cheeky sense of humour.
With listeners discovering the song on iTunes, Amazon Music and Spotify, it’s a chance to enjoy an original that doesn’t take itself too seriously.
Put it on, have a jive and enjoy the craic — because the whole place is talkin’ about you!
